YOUTH REVIVAL PROGRAMME

We all know that we live in an era of continuous distractions. We have too many ‘Digital Distractions’. Even committed young people succumb to this temptation. It is straightforward for a young person to get distracted and diverted. Hence, we allot a mentor to each participant in the program who regularly prays for them and helps the Mentee make decisions pleasing to God. Mentors themselves are fully equipped and given continuous orientation and guidance. As of 6th July 2023, around 70 Mentors are trained. We found that the people who have registered for this program have lived in different cities for some time because of their education and family situation. Small Bible study groups for the program 'Cluster Groups' are formed to keep them continuously under this program. Two-year video lessons are designed for them to follow in these online cluster groups. The topics cover various issues that today's generations struggle with, like Fear, Anxiety, Depression, and Break-ups; topics that lead them closer to God; and issues related to Evangelism & Missions. The team also found that the present generation needs to be more vital in quickly building sound and bad habits. To break any bad habits that they might have and to make good ones, 21 days are allotted for them along with an accountability partner. This helps the young person build divine habits like meditating on the Bible and praying and breaking any addictive behaviors that they might have. The participants are encouraged to involve themselves in different ministries with the local BYM unit. Boys are guided to ministries like tract distribution, prayer cells, village ministry, and organizing Gospel meetings. Girls are guided to ministries like visiting orphanages, nursing homes, and one-to-one Evangelism. In order for the participants to have a knowledge of a wide variety of ministries, they are also exposed to different Mission Trips like Medical Missions, Evangelistic Missions, and Educational Missions. During these exposures, the participants are encouraged to find their specific calling like Missionary, Pastor (Shepherd), Teacher, Evangelist, or Prophet (Revivalist). 

SHAPE is an acrostic for 

S – Spiritual Gifts, 

H – Heart, 

A - Ability, 

P- Personality, 

E – Experiences. 

Rick Warren introduced this tool in his book, "The Purpose Driven Life," and later developed by Erik Rees. This consisted of a battery of questions that would help the participant to find their purpose in the Kingdom. Under God, we further developed this tool with the Word and Spirit abundance given. With God's guidance, we have developed a series of questionnaires that will enable the participants to discover their specific calling. The core group also found that even the committed young people needed help managing the current mission scenario. This is partly because of the technical know-how of the younger generation, a lack of understanding of their capacities by the previous generation, and a need for proper guidance. We decided to encourage the people to learn from the seniors and, at the same time, pursue their own unique and special calling. We also help them find a suitable match when it comes to marriage. 

We gather the Mentors and Mentees physically in one place for a time of praying, sharing, and learning. It is also a time to hear the testimonies of the people who are already growing in their calling. We believe that in the days and years to come, these young people will accomplish great things for God. We also believe that we live in the time when God is willing to fulfill His promise given in Joel 2:28 – “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”
